Cubus is one of Scandinavias' largest fashion retail chains with clothes and accesories men, women and children. With more than 300 shops and over 2,000 employees, in six countries; Norway, Sweden, Poland, Latvia, Germany and Finland, Cubus promote fashionable, high-quality clothes at reasonable prices.
To ensure that Cubus always has the latest fashions in our shops we have our own design and purchasing departments who are responsible for creating our collections. Continuous quality control enables us to secure the high-quality of our products. We can offer high-quality clothes at reasonable prices because of our direct control of the purchasing process and the volume of clothes we purchase, in addition to having very effective distribution channels.
In 1966 we started with what would later become the Cubus chain. It was then that the idea of the chain concept was launched by the off-the-shelf clothing factory Jonas Øglænd in Sandnes. Øglænd tested out a range of different concepts, before finally making the Cubus name and concept official.
In 1985 the Varner Group bought into Øglænd and in 1988 they become the largest shareholder. This continued until Varner Group took full control of Jonas Øglænd and Cubus in 1990. Marius Varner, one of the owner of the Varner Group, was appointed managing director in 1995. In 1996 the administration of Cubus moved from Sandnes to Billingstad outside Oslo. In the same year Cubus opened its first shops in Poland and Latvia. Cubus opened its first German shop in 2001, in Sweden in 2004 and in Finland in 2011.
